Assam MBBS counselling 2026 procedure

• The Assam NEET counselling is done online in four rounds, including a stray vacancy round.

• The NEET 2026 exam is a prerequisite for students to be considered for DME Assam MBBS counselling.

• The DME of Assam publishes the merit list containing the selected candidates' names based on their NEET 2026 scores. Candidates whose names appear on the list are eligible for counselling.

• Before the late date, eligible candidates must submit the Assam MBBS application form 2026.

Assam MBBS/BDS 2026 counselling: Documents required

• Properly filled Assam MBBS application form

• Admit card of HSLC or equivalent examination

• Passing certificate of HSLC or equivalent

• Permanent Residence Certificate

• Mark sheets of 10+2

• NEET admit card

• NEET scorecard

• Caste certificate (if applicable)

NOTE: Candidates must bring all essential documents at the time of reporting, along with the originals and self-attested photocopies of the originals as instructed by the DME Assam.

Choice filling for NEET Assam counselling 2026 - Complete Process

Candidates have to provide their preferences for college and course during the choice filling of DME Assam NEET counselling. Aspirants must note that they can choose as many colleges and courses as per their choice and preference. Candidates can check the previous year's Assam NEET UG 2026 counselling cutoff to get a better idea about their choices of college and course accordingly.

Assam MBBS seat allotment 2026

The allocation of seats is based on the merit rank of the candidate's state list. Details such as the name of the applicant, roll number, state merit rank, and the name of the allotted institute are included in the Assam MBBS seat allotment results for 2026. If a candidate is unable to attend the counselling on the scheduled day, his/her seat is withdrawn. Check out the list of last year's seat allocation below.

The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Quota

The EWS category was introduced for general candidates only. To apply for EWS quota seats, candidates are required to bring a completed Annexure-XI at the time of counselling, which needs to be signed by the circle officer concerned.
