    Veterinary courses under NEET 2025 exam

    To get admission in the top undergraduate veterinary courses through NEET, students must have the requirements to apply for the course.     Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH)

    Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry is an undergraduate degree programme in veterinary science. The course duration is 5.5 years including a mandatory internship. The course involves the knowledge and skills related to animal physiology, disorders, anatomy and their treatment.

    Course fee: The course fee ranges between Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 30.25 lakhs. It depends on the type of institution. The government colleges offering BVSc usually charge less fees than private colleges.

    Higher studies: Candidates can pursue higher studies such as Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) and other veterinary courses.

    Career opportunities: The popular profiles for BVSc graduates are veterinary surgeon, veterinary doctor and veterinary technologist and others.

    Veterinary course under NEET 2025 admission procedure

    The admission of veterinary courses under NEET is done on the basis of NEET score. Candidates who qualify the undergraduate entrance examination with the required NEET cutoff will be eligible to get admission in the BVSc course. The qualified candidates will be called for the counselling process. The Veterinary Council of India (VCI) conducts the VCI counselling for 15% All India Quota seats. The 85% state quota seats are filled through state authorities. Eligible candidates are invited based on the merit list.

    The VCI seat allotment is released on the basis of choices filled, marks scored, rank reservation, number of seats and other factors. The selected students have to report to the allotted institute before the last date and submit the documents to confirm their admission.
