CAP Quota in NEET 2025 Exam- Eligibity Criteria, Certificate Requirement

Who is applicable for CAP quota in NEET?

This CAP quota is a reservation quota which applies to the children of parents working in the Army, Air Force and Navy. Only the students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh fall under this CAP quota in NEET UG exam. To be eligible for this CAP quota, candidates need to submit their CAP quota certificate while registering for online state counselling. This certificate is issued only to the children of Armed personnel who are either currently serving or whose parents have already served and retired.

Domicile criteria for CAP quota in NEET UG exam

To be eligible for the NEET UG CAP quota, candidates must follow some domicile criteria set by the authority. These domicile criteria for CAP quota in NEET are as follows -

• The student must have studied in a school or college within the local area of Telangana or Andhra Pradesh for a minimum continuous period of 4 years immediately preceding the year they appear for the relevant qualifying examination.

• The candidate must have resided within the local area for a minimum continuous period of 4 years immediately preceding the year they appear for the relevant qualifying examination.

For candidates who do not meet the above criteria but have studied in educational institutions within the state for a minimum of 7 consecutive academic years, ending with the year of NEET application, the following conditions apply -

• They are considered local in relation to the local area where they have studied for the maximum number of years out of the said 7 years.

• If the period of study in two local areas is equal, they may choose either for local status.

• If they have not studied in any educational institutions in the state but have resided in any local area or two local areas (for an equal period) for a minimum continuous period of 7 years, they may be considered local.

How to get CAP quota certificate for NEET?

Students who fulfil the domicile criteria can get the CAP quota certificate by submitting their application to the concerned authorities. Candidates need to download the offline application form from the NEET state counselling website of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and duly fill the application form for the CAP certificate along with the documents asked for.

Reservation under CAP quota in NEET

Candidates who are domiciled in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are eligible to apply under this NEET CAP quota. Under this CAP quota in NEET UG, students are given a horizontal reservation of 1% in each course and category of private and government colleges.
