The total marks in NEET are 720 marks. The NEET UG exam consists of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), distributed equally among three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks, and each incorrect answer results in a deduction of 1 mark (negative marking). The distribution of questions is as follows:

The "passing marks" in NEET are simply the qualifying marks. The minimum marks which a candidate must score to qualify for the examination are the NEET 2025 qualifying marks. Only such candidates who secure the NEET exam pass mark out of 720 are eligible for NEET counselling and admission to medical colleges.
