FMGE 2025 Results Out: Just 18% Pass, Over 29,000 Fail the Screening Test
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) results for the June 2025 session. Out of 37,207 candidates applied for the FMGE June 2025 session, of which 36039 appeared for the screening test and only 6,707 passed, bringing the pass percentage down to 18.61% — a decline from 20.20% in 2024.

Over 29,000 Candidates Fail the Screening Test
As per the FMGE passing percentage, the failure count reached 29,327 candidates (81.37%), up from 27,297 (76.22%) last year. Experts highlight that this has been one of the toughest years in recent FMGE history, with fewer candidates achieving high marks.
Attendance and Withheld Results
The stats of total students who appeared for FMGE 2025 along with the absent candidates and students whose results are withheld is provided below.
Absent candidates: 1,168 (3.14%) – slightly fewer than 2024’s 1,211 (3.38%).
Results withheld: 5 candidates in 2025 compared to 78 in 2024, due to pending review, Unfair Means proceedings, or court orders.
