NEET PG 2024 Topper Interview - Dr Hamsavardhini (AIR 7)
The much-awaited results for NEET PG 2024 were announced on August 23 by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). Amongst the NEET PG 2024 toppers, Dr Hamsavardhini, an MBBS graduate from CMC Vellore bagged All India Rank 7. In conversation with Careers360, she shared the strategies and study plan that helped her crack NEET PG. Read the complete interview of NEET PG 2024 AIR 7, Dr Hamsavardhini below.
Careers360: Congratulations on emerging as a NEET PG 2024 topper! How are you feeling about your results?
Dr Hamsavardhini: It all feels very surreal to me and haven’t sunken the feeling yet. I checked thrice to ensure my rank.
Careers360: Tell us something about your background.
Dr Hamsavardhini: I am Dr Hamsavardhini. I have pursued my MBBS from CMC, Vellore, in the batch of 2016. As a part of my MBBS course, we have an obligatory two-year bond service post-internship. We are allowed to give NEET-PG only after we finish our second year of bond. But I took the NEET-PG exam last year for practice.
Careers360: How did your family support you in your journey?
Dr Hamsavardhini: I've received a lot of support from my parents. My parents believed in me more than I did.
Careers360: What are your thoughts on the NEET PG 2024 postponement that many candidates requested? Do you think the exam should've been postponed?
Dr Hamsavardhini: I was not prepared to listen to the postponement news. When they announced it, I was shocked. I took a break for 5 days and spent some time with my family. I continued my preparation the following week.
Careers360: How did you prepare for NEET PG 2024?
Dr Hamsavardhini: During my NEET PG preparations, I watched the clinical videos of Marrow and used revision video notes for all the subjects. I solved q bank modules simultaneously after watching the videos. I started giving Grand Tests more frequently and kept on revising my revision notes till the exam.
Careers360: Did you take any mock tests to prepare for NEET PG 2024 preparations?
Dr Hamsavardhini: Yes, I have participated in the national mock in which I secured the rank of 54 or 55. I don’t remember the rank exactly.
Careers360: Did you have any specific exam day strategy?
Dr Hamsavardhini: I mainly focused on revision. I did 8 to 9 revisions using the notes and reviewed the wrong answers I got in PYQs before the exam.
