Single shit exam mandatory

The Supreme Court has strictly ordered that the NEET PG 2025 must be held in a single shift. The court said that the question papers in two shifts can never be of the same difficulty level and using normalization as a routine process is unjust. This is acceptable in exceptional situations but not as a routine policy.

This means that the NBE must make all necessary arrangements, including enough NEET PG exam centres and staff to ensure all candidates can appear at the same time.

No change in NEET PG 2025 exam date

Despite NBE’s concerns about logistics, the court has not approved any change in the NEET PG 2025 exam date. The NEET PG exam date for the 2025 session remains unchanged. The NEET PG exam will be conducted on June 15. 2025.

• Single shit exam: The Supreme Court has mandated that NEET PG 2025 be conducted in a single shift, replacing the previous two-shift format.

• Introduction of sectional timing: The authority has introduced sectional timing in the NEET PG exam 2025. The NEET PG question paper is divided into five sections, each containing 40 questions. Candidates will have 42 minutes to complete each section.

• Display of answer key: To enhance transparency, the Supreme Court has directed the authorities to publish the answer keys and raw scores used in the evaluation process

• Changes in counselling process: The Court has directed to make some changes in the NEET PG counselling process. This includes:

1. Implement a nationally synchronized counselling calendar to align All India Quota and state counselling rounds.

2. Make pre-counselling fee disclosures mandatory for private and deemed universities, including details of tuition, hostel, caution, and miscellaneous charges.

3. Enforce strict penalties for seat blocking, such as forfeiture of security deposits and disqualification from future NEET PG exams.

4. Utilize Aadhaar-based tracking to prevent seat blocking practices.

5. Allow candidates to upgrade their choices after Round 2 of counselling.

6. Blacklist colleges that violate these directives.
